Connaught Public School is located at Gladstone and Rosemount, in the heart of the Hintonburg and Civic Hospital neighbourhoods. Our school has a long history in the community, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2015.

In 2014, the school population doubled, as the school shifted from an English elementary school to a dual-track school, offering programs in both French Immersion and English.

This year, Connaught will be home to nearly 400 students from junior kindergarten to grade 6, including one semi-integrated class for students with developmental disabilities. This increased student population will further intensify the demands on the play areas, compounding the existing challenges.

It is not just the Connaught school children who use our outdoor spaces. Many other groups benefit from an improved schoolyard:
Ottawa-Carleton District School Board extended day program before and after school
Ottawa-Carleton District School Boar summer day camps during the summer.
Community soccer and basketball programs, and
Guide and Scout meetings.
The Rosemount branch of the Ottawa Public Library outdoor summer reading groups
Families use the yards in the evenings and on weekends.

We will all benefit from an improved green spaces, an enhanced field, modern playground surfaces and better wheelchair access.

Great schools like Connaught Public School are part of what make our community one of the best places to live and do business in Ottawa. Great schools deserve great schoolyards where all children can be active, play safely and be inspired by the world around them.

The children of this community are the future of this community.
Our children only get one childhood.
